The Elkton Blue Man

Coulter Mitchell created a short video (5:23) about Huron County’s Little Blue Man for the Elkton Historical Society that includes interviews and reenactments of some key scary moments. A good authority confirms that the events are more or less true, although the blue man costume is fancier than the original. (Hey, isn’t that the same guy that was at Autumn Fest?) Don Weiss, one of the three pranksters, is interviewed, as well as several “victims.”

‘Little Blue Man’ returns to AutumnFest

A comic version of the Little Blue Man pops up now and again at Huron County events. While his color is blue and the helmet looks like a football helmet, that’s where the similarities with the original Little Blue Man end. Nice try, though. Thanks for keeping the memory alive. Read the article.

Bigfoot, Blue Man and Flying Saucer Hoaxes in 1958

This is a republishing of a 1959 article about the major hoaxes of 1959. It’s kind of funny. And it has photos of the original 1959 story about the hoaxes. The story includes a picture of the Little Blue Man. Read the article.

50 Years Ago, ‘Little Blue Man’ Shook Up Elkton

I’m not sure if the story would have been resurrected for a 50th year anniversary if it hadn’t been for Dan Depner and his corn maze. Donald Weiss, one of the original culprits was interviewed for the story along with Dan Depner and several other Huron County locals who were involved with the event when it occurred.
